History Of Everyday Objects

Art From Us present “History of Everyday Objects”. An unveiling of the origins of life through the ages – one object at a time. Humanity’s history with and on Planet Earth is one that has ben shaped by the tools we have found and created. Innovation, Media, Tech all started with the first flint-rocks and the innovation of tools to hunt and gather. We invite you on a journey to look at the everyday objects that have shaped our human history. Especially as we take many of them for granted.

Through History of Everyday Objects, we explore not only the object in spotlight, but also the moment of innovation and invention. The objects we use in our daily lives have beginnings rooted in our human needs and desires. This to us is fascinating. Many of the objects that you shall come across, despite being millennia-old, have not in large part, changed their form nor function.

This series was inspired by Bill Bryson’s At Home: A Short History of Private Life. Throughout the book Bryson takes us on a journey of his countryside house. Room by room, and yes, object by object he has enthralled.

As we bring you new objects and their histories each week, we bring them to you through the lens of healing and art. The intimate relationship objects have with our bodies, our moods and our functionality in the worlds we inhabit. That is what fascinates us the most.
